AIES hosts Scripture Volunteer Workshop 2026

On Saturday, February 7th, the Australian Islamic Education Services (AIES) took a significant step in elevating the standards of Islamic education in public schools. The ANIC Office served as a hub of collaboration and growth as dedicated SRE volunteers gathered for a comprehensive Scripture Volunteer Workshop.

We were honoured to welcome Br. Raed Ammar to lead the session. Br. Raed, a seasoned high school teacher and the Head of Community Engagement, Training and Development at the UMA, brought a wealth of practical experience. His insights bridged the gap between theory and the real-world classroom, focusing on:

  • Professional Excellence: Setting a high bar for representation in public institutions.
  • Effective Engagement: Practical techniques to capture the hearts and minds of our youth.

The day was packed with interactive learning designed to empower our team.

Key sessions included:

  • The Da’ee Mindset: A powerful reminder that we are more than just teachers—we are Da’ees. This session focused on the Adab (etiquette) of dawah, emphasizing sincerity, patience and being a living example of the character of the Prophet SAW.
  • Interactive Q&A: Br. Raed provided practical solutions to real-world classroom scenarios and student inquiries.
  • Collaborative Group Activities: Hands-on sessions to sharpen lesson delivery and student engagement.
  • Building Community: A vital opportunity for our volunteers to connect, share their experiences, and strengthen their bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.

Our Scripture volunteers are the backbone of our mission. Seeing our team bond and sharpen their skills is a testament to their unwavering dedication to the next generation. We are committed to ensuring they have the highest level of training to guide our youth with confidence, wisdom and excellence.
