Nurturing Islamic Values in Education
Nurturing Islamic Values in Every Student
Our mission is to make the most of the SRE time slot by seamlessly blending faith with learning. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to instil lasting Islamic values, providing a foundation for students to grow as confident and principled individuals.
Through our SRE program, we focus on nurturing your child in two key areas:
Spiritual & Moral Excellence
This is the heart of what we do. We help students develop a strong moral compass and a deeper connection to their faith. By teaching responsibility and character through Islamic principles, we empower them to navigate the world with integrity.
Holistic Academic Support
While SRE focuses on religious education, our curriculum is designed to complement your child’s general schooling. We encourage critical thinking, emotional intelligence and the social skills necessary for them to thrive in their wider academic environment.
This balanced approach empowers our SRE students to become principled and successful individuals.
Building Future Leaders through Islamic SRE Education
Our Islamic Special Religious Education (SRE) program is committed to developing well-rounded individuals prepared to lead with principle and integrity.
Our Islamic education program fosters the holistic development of students by integrating faith and essential life skills. We don’t just teach religious concepts; we cultivate the moral compass, critical thinking and social responsibility necessary for them to excel as:
Principled Leaders
Instilling strong Islamic values (such as honesty, justice and compassion) that guide their decisions and actions both in and out of school.
Active Community Members
Equipping students with the knowledge to articulate their beliefs respectfully and engage positively within a diverse Australian society, contributing meaningfully to their local community.
Spiritually Grounded Individuals
Fostering a deep sense of identity and purpose, which is the foundation for resilience and personal well-being.
Through SRE, we are shaping today’s students into tomorrow’s confident and ethical future leaders.
Empowering Students Through Islamic Education in Public Schools
Islamic SRE is the vital, dedicated religious instruction that prepares students to be confident, principled, and engaged members of the Australian community. Through essential Islamic knowledge and ethical teachings, AIES empowers students by focusing on three key areas:
- Establishes a Strong, Positive Identity
- Shapes Moral and Ethical Leadership
- Promotes Understanding and Social Cohesion
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Here are some common questions parents have about our Islamic education services and programs.
What is Islamic SRE?
SRE stands for Special Religious Education. It is time allocated within the NSW public school timetable for students to receive religious instruction from an approved provider, based on the faith nominated by their parents/caregivers.
Who teaches the Islamic SRE classes?
Our classes are taught by authorised volunteers from the Australian Islamic Education Services (AIES) who have undergone specific training, background checks (including Working With Children Checks) and adherence to our strict code of conduct.
Is SRE compulsory?
No. Participation in SRE is a parental choice. Parents/caregivers decide whether their child attends SRE or participates in non-scripture activities (such as supervised study).
What does the curriculum cover?
Our curriculum is designed to teach fundamental Islamic values, history, moral ethics, and practical religious concepts. It focuses on holistic development, character building and promoting respect for diversity.
Is this just for Muslim students?
SRE is provided for students whose parents have nominated for them to receive Islamic instruction. While our content is based on Islamic teachings, it fosters values that benefit all students and promotes mutual understanding in the school community.
How can I see the syllabus?
The detailed Term by Term Syllabus is available in our Educational Resources Hub (Volunteer Access Only). Parents can request a high-level overview of the curriculum content from the AIES team or the school SRE coordinator.
How can I support the SRE program?
You can support us through donating to help fund resources and training, volunteering, providing feedback on the curriculum or program effectiveness and encouraging your child’s engagement with the lessons.
